Abstract
The author characterizes the following main groups of functions performed by andragogues according to their roles in society: teaching, educational, compensatory (teaching staff, methodologists, instructors, trainers, scientists of various profiles who carry out theoretical developments in the development of adult education, etc.); adaptive, preventive (social workers, volunteers, mentors, mentors, tutors, etc.); advisory, coaching (coaches, mentors, tutors, advisors, consultants, mentors, volunteers, etc.); managerial, controlling, expert, educational (managers of different levels, organizers of the educational process, civil servants, etc.).
