Abstract

Altmetrics are a broad group of metrics that capture the various parts of the impact that a paper or piece can have. The altmetric classification was proposed by ImpactStory in 2012. Consider one of the metrics - PlumX Metrics - is a useful source of information about scientific articles in the journal. It gives an idea of ​​how society interacts with certain parts of research results (journal articles, conference proceedings, monographs, etc.) in the online environment. For example, with this metric, you can track references to research in the news or on Twitter. You can use PlumX metrics for free with Open Journal Systems. Today, they are the main source of statistics for scientific articles indexed in the international scientometric database Scopus, along with the main citation indicators.
