Abstract

In November 2019, the presentation of the Open Ukrainian Citation Index project took place - a new domestic service for searching and analyzing scientific citations of scientists, developed by specialists of the State Scientific and Technical Library of Ukraine. It is a search engine and a database of scientific citations from all publications that use the Cited-by service from Crossref and support the Initiative for Open Citations. The Open Ukrainian Citation Index database is designed to simplify the search for scientific publications, as well as to draw the attention of editors to the problem of completeness and quality of metadata of domestic scientific publications, improving their placement in specialized search engines. It should help managers with the collection of statistics, expand the readership of domestic scientific journals and allow bibliometrics specialists to freely study the relationships between authors and documents in various scientific disciplines, in particular in the social sciences and humanities.
