Abstract
The article substantiates the relevance of studying the problem of overcoming behavior of modern students enrolled in socionomic professions. To study the main strategies of overcoming behaviour among future specialist of socionomic professions there is conducted the empirical research, which involved 198 participants, who are students of universities and vocational schools of Chernivtsi. To determine the main coping strategies of students there is used the questionnaire «Ways of Coping» (WCQ, Folkman and Lazarus, 1988) which is adapter by T. L. Kryukova in collaboration (2004). The results of empirical studies have shown that modern students are using various mechanisms of overcoming behaviourin stressful situations, but the most severe coping styles are escape/avoidance, positive reappraisal, and self-control, and the least severe - taking responsibility. These styles prevalent in behaviour of students of universities and vocational schools, as well boys and girls. However, university students in comparison to vocational school students are often using constructive styles of coping behaviour: searching for social support and planning solution. There are prevalent in the behaviour of girls in comparison to boys mechanisms of taking responsibility and positive reappraisal, which belong to the relatively constructive coping mechanisms. The differencesby other styles of coping are not statistically significant. Therefore, on the basis of the analysis we can state that in all groups of surveyed students among prevalent strategies are revealed destructive coping mechanisms: most often it is an escape/avoidance. It should be noted that students with high level of expression of destructive coping strategies can be attributed to those who need psychological help. The above data indicate the need for purposeful work on formation of future specialists of socionomic professions, whose professional activity is one of the most stressful types of work from a psychological standpoint.
