Abstract
The article presents the scientific and methodological approaches to the implementation of pre-vocational training of students with intellectual disabilities in institutions of general secondary education, outlines the basic educational and corrective-developmental tasks of vocational training of students in grades 5-10 in the current conditions of educational reform. The main profiles of vocational training of high school students with intellectual disabilities are considered. The socio-professional orientation as an important area of preprofessional training of students with intellectual disabilities is presented. Model of competently directed vocational training of schoolchildren in special institutions of general secondary education is considered. The vocational training of students is carried out in the conditions of compensatory learning, on the basis of individual and differentiated approaches, taking into account the possibilities and peculiarities of mastering the educational material, namely: the ability to learn visually, visual support, visual material; the ability to imitate, perform step-by-step practical steps on the sample and verbal instruction, subject to submission of new material in small portions.
