Abstract
The PISA International Research of the Quality of Education is considered as a tool to enable each participating country to identify the advantages and shortcomings of the national education system and using these results, to draw up the directions for improving its functioning, as well as to evaluate the correctness of management decisions while conducting subsequent studies. This collection analyzes the results obtained by Ukrainian students, substantiates the possibility of interpreting the results of PISA-2018 as an indicator of the state of general secondary education in Ukraine and their use in the conditions of building of a new Ukrainian school, together with outlining the ways to improve the quality of Ukrainian education, taking into account the experience of other countries. The publication is addressed to a wide range of educators and the public interested in the development of national education.
