Abstract

The problem of the formation of pupils’ civic competence at basic school in the process of studying History is investigated in the article. Theoretical aspects of the problem are highlighted, current status of its investigation in Ukrainian scientific literature is analyzed by educators and psychologists and the essence of such definitions as “civic competence”, the analysis of the school curriculum in History in the 10-11-th forms and textbooks with their opportunities in the formation of pupils’ civic competence are carried out.
