Abstract
The article focuses on the problem of developing a methodology for pupils’ project activities in the process of studying the basic course of physics. The implementation of educational projects by pupils of gymnasium is considered as an effective tool for the formation of key competences. It is emphasized that the implementation of educational tasks with the elements of the project activity provides for using the textbook by the pupils, along with additional literature, electronic educational facilities, educational media products, organizing the Internet search, searching in electronic databases and data banks as well. In this case, the crucial information and communication competence is formed. It is justified that the modern physics textbook is a pivotal element of the system of educational and methodological support of the educational process in physics, and thereby it could be an effective means of organizing the project activity of pupils. It was concluded that as to the results of the analysis of modern physics textbooks for pupils of grades 7-9, the methodological apparatus of most of them is aimed at attracting pupils to the implementation of educational projects. In particular, they contain indicative topics for educational projects and short recommendations for pupils how to implement it, organization of training information search, project presentation creation, using of additional literature and Internet resources. It is determined that physics textbooks for the applicants of basic education have the appropriate didactic potential to provide the organizational stage of the project activity. Pupils can familiarize themselves with the peculiarities of work on the educational project, its main stages and peculiarities of synthesis and presentation of the results. The materials presented in them play a motivational role, stimulating pupils to start the study. It is noted that the textbook is not the only educational and methodological source for the pupil and teacher in providing the research activities in the study of physics. It is advisable to use electronic educational resources and reference retrieval systems. In this context, it is promising to use the technology of QR-codes in modern textbooks, which enables pupils to use electronic educational resources directly in the course of work with the textbook.
