Abstract

This article is devoted to the problem of lifelong learning, in the humanistic sense, which is based on the removal of visible conflict. The author shows the fact that education plays very important role in the modern stage of development of society, both in lifelong and adult education as its essential component. A number of factors indicating the humanistic role in this field of education have been described, namely: awareness of belonging to the world community, creating opportunities of adaption to rapid changes in contemporary society, increased role of the individual, personal interests and capabilities. The article also presents how in recent years the approach has changed to the function of lifelong learning in the context of professional development in the teaching profession. It has shown that modifications in the field of lifelong learning are directly related to the processes taking place in the socio-economic and political life of society, and at the same time set trends. These are: the transformation and expansion of the content of education, changing the concept of adult education with the preparation of functional and professional individual development in the evolution of knowledge as a valuable source of knowledge of the information society, and the conceptual trend of adult lifelong education.
