Abstract
The thesis identifies the tendencies in the educational policy (concerning secondary school) of the sovereign Ukrainian state in the first decade of its existence. The methodological basis of forecasting as a multicomponent activity aimed at developing a scientifically sound forecasting system, which is interpreted as an orderly, holistic set of components of activity, the functioning of which provides the development of sound forecasts for formation the content of modern general secondary education.
