Abstract
The problem of developing of innovative teaching and methodological support for contemporary primary school at the stage of its reform is actualized in the article. The implementation of the concept of the "New Ukrainian School" envisages a change in the goals and main objectives of general secondary education in line with the modern paradigm of education and the global trends in the development of educational systems. The new goals of the Ukrainian school require modernization of the content of education. The current processes of reforming of the school education system concern its following components: methods, forms and means. The new purpose and content of the study also require new means –– modern textbooks and manuals for the New Ukrainian Primary School. The contribution of scientists to the development of theory and practice of the textbook for the primary school is analyzed. The necessity of taking into account the ideas of a personally oriented and competency-based approach to the creation of a modern reading textbook for primary school in the context of the tasks of the New Ukrainian School is substantiated. The reading textbook is seen as the effective means of developing of reading, communication and other key competences of the primary school children. The purpose and tasks of the content lines of the linguistic and literary field of primary education are presented. The didactic-methodological possibilities of reading textbook for 2 class are disclosed as a means of ensuring the content lines of the Model Educational Program that are implemented through the subject "Reading" The necessity of using in the modern reading textbook of the tasks that encourage children to creativity on the basis of what they have read and contribute to the development of research skills of second-graders in reading lessons are substantiated. The article is addressed to teachers, scientists, who study the problem of textbook creation in primary education, teachers of higher pedagogical educational institutions and institutes of postgraduate pedagogical education.
