Abstract
The article deals with one of the topical problems of training the specialists of the second level of higher education "Master" of special education. The current state of reform of all educational units in Ukraine imposes high demands on pedagogical staff of educational institutions. This is especially important at the stage of implementation of integration processes and inclusion of children with special educational needs in the general education environment. Educational institutions (higher, secondary, pre-school) carry out measures to meet the contemporary needs of society, but an urgent problem is the shortage of young and impartial teaching staff, armed not only with basic and advanced knowledge, advanced methodological work, but also necessary and competent as well as necessary. It is the ability to work with modern children of different categories, in non-standard conditions (integration, inclusion) will lead to the expected results. The range of professional competences of the modern special educator is quite wide, however, the diagnostic and prognostic competence is of particular importance. The formation of this competence at the stage of mastering a master's degree program of higher education will provide a high degree of self-confidence of the graduate in the fulfillment of functional duties.
