Abstract
This article focuses on the phenomenon of narrative identity. The relevance of this concept is due to insufficient consideration of the impact of awareness of life history on the present and future of man, which is especially important in overcoming its crisis situations. The concept of "narratives" is analyzed as an important construct that allows the individual to structure understanding of himself and his life experience, in particular in the context of building relationships with others. The possibility of using the Narrative Identity Questionnaire (NIQ, 2019) to diagnose a change in a person's attitude to traumatic, crisis events that she or he has experienced in the recent or distant past has been identified. It is established that the transformation of memories, the ruminative separation and isolation and self-understanding and self-acceptance are the components of the formed narrative identity. The empirical study found that all components of NIQ narrative identity in students are sufficiently expressed, that is, researchers can incorporate experience in post-crisis functioning and, through a crisis situation, better understand the value of their lives, their potential and resources.
