Abstract
The article presents an attempt to solve the methodological and methodical problems in forming the educational-cognitive competence of students with special educational needs in the direction of creating the theory of pupils' educational-cognitive competence, which is a necessary step for solving a variety of practical issues, in particular, in order to reveal the conditions for effective formation of separate competencies in teaching and to develop the appropriate technologies and techniques. Basing on analysis and generalization of the educational-cognitive competences definitions and various combinations of their components which proposed in the scientific literature, seven components are identified that are required for realization of cognitive activity. For the purpose to overcome the difficulties of their integration within the framework of a only one conceptual model, an integrated model of the cognitive activity structural organization is synthesized, which is based on the results of cognitive activity research in psychology, epistemology, neurophysiology, and psycholinguistics. Basing on it’s, the model of educational-cognitive competencies structure was developed and proposed.
