Abstract
Understanding education as a spiritual transformation of the individual in the process of spiritualization of the educational environment actualizes the need to identify mechanisms for the implementation of this process. Such mechanisms include the catharsis and spiritual upliftment of the subjects of educational activity on the basis of their involvement in the "High" (exalted), the Beautiful and the Good. These mechanisms are manifested in the juxtaposition of the pupils of their real "I-spiritual" with the ideal "I-spiritual", revealing the discrepancy of these "I" and in the subsequent actions for self-improvement of their spiritual qualities. The stages of spiritual transformation of personality are: self-observation - identification and evaluation of their negative qualities - self-condemnation - awareness of the need to get rid of these qualities - repentance (repentance + renunciation of negative qualities) - self-change, resulting in irreversible change of personality for the better, which is better spiritual sense. The development of the spirituality of education is oriented towards certain spiritual values and the educational ideal, which for each society has its own: Bolshevik, national-socialist, Christian, pan-European, Ukrainian national ideal. Orientation to a particular educational ideal involves the use of appropriate methods and technologies of spiritual transformation of personality. In the history of Ukrainian pedagogy, methods of pedagogical explosion, upbringing "on high", technology of creating a situation of success and others were used for this purpose. They form the basis of the humanistic pedagogical systems of A. Makarenko, V. Sukhomlinsky, I. Ziazun, Y. Azarov, and other humanist educators.
