Abstract
In the conditions of the development of the New Ukrainian school, in particular, the modernization of the content and structure of basic secondary education, special significance is given to scientific and applied developments from the educational and methodological ensuring the design of the educational environment of the gymnasium and the creation and introduction into the educational process of innovative educational programs and school textbooks of the new generation. Changes in the requirements for a modern school textbook are conditioned by such external and internal factors as: integration of Ukrainian education into the international educational space; formation of civil society in Ukraine and democratization of educational processes; information of all branches of economy, science, education; the emergence of new inquiries into society for public education and the need for national education of a Ukrainian citizen as highly skilled specialists and patriots. Consequently, the modern school textbook should be focused on the effective use of modern scientific knowledge (which should be clearly spelled out in state standards and curricula) in practice through various activities of students (educational, educational, research, creative, etc.) using the textbook.
