Abstract

The stages of formation and development of reading skills in elementary school are substantiated; the current state of levels of its formation in pupils of grades 2-4, the school practice of diagnostic examination of schoolchildren in the context of revealing of social and genetic factors of influence on mechanisms of formation of reading skills is analyzed; The content of valid reading books for elementary school is analyzed from the perspective of presentation of their didactic material for the formation of technical and semantic skills.
