Abstract
Тhe article considers the concept of social empowerment. The scientific views on the phenomenon of social empowerment are singled out. It is noted that the majority of foreign scientists consider the social capability to be a global construct, consisting of a large number of interactive elements, many of which are in focus of relevant scientific and experimental studies. The attention of scientists is drawn to the following elements: social skills (in particular, specific behavioral skills that enable proper functioning of the person in society); Communication and acceptance of a role (both from the way of expression of own thoughts and feelings and ability to understand ideas and feelings of other people); Social contexts (in particular, situations of a specific and general nature in which social behavior is manifested); Social cognition (for example, how individuals think about themselves and others, how well they make decisions and solve social problems); Social goals (this is a series of desired results, which are expected to be achieved through social behavior, by establishing friendly relations, playing with others, joining a certain group and avoiding a conflict, etc.).
