Abstract
The article discusses functions and organizational structure of student management; a special attention is given to the author's form of student governance, that is student management. Student management is, above all, a complex relationship which results in developing the ability of transforming an unorganized crowd into an efficient, purposeful, and productive group by means of cultivating skills of planning, motivation, organization, putting into action and controlling student teams in order to coordinate available resources which are necessary for the effective realization of set goals, without breaking socio-cultural standards of relationship within a team and with external systems. Main junctions of student management are goal setting (the analysis and formulating of the purpose); planning (the development of plans and alternative variants of the activity); motivation; making decisions; the realization and organization (daily routine and the organization of labor process to do tasks); control (self-control and the control of conclusions, the correction of goals); monitoring; the function of information and communication (the search and sharing of information, communication links which are necessary at all stages of student management). The development of student management is a constituent of the process of continuous expanding of the zone of self-activity and democratic interaction between students which helps to reduce the authoritative space of an establishment of a secondary education. It occurs by fulfilling a number of specific functions such as adaptive which harmonizes relations «personality-group»; interactive which combines team and individual forms of activity; reflexive and prognostic which outlines the perspectives of the existence and the development of a team on the basis of diagnosing and monitoring; governing which introduces students into the governing culture.
