Abstract
The article highlights that the activities of boarding schools for children with hearing impairments occurred in accordance with the rights of children with special needs. It is shown that the development of these institutions was aimed at the main tasks of a special boarding school: to maintain, train, educate these children, give them the opportunity to receive a complex of correctional and developmental and medical rehabilitation, to form a socially adapted personality, to promote their physical and mental development.
