Abstract

The article analyzes the essence of intellectual development, аge-specific features of mental processes in senior preschoolers and first-graders. The author substantiates the necessity of intellectual development of children, the generality of approaches in the organization of this process in senior preschoolers and first-graders. Methods for the formation of mental operations (analysis and synthesis, comparison, classification and classification) are described. Given are multiple examples of developed tasks, used both in the teaching of reading, and in the process of cognizing the world in integrated occupations.
