Abstract

The article is devoted to the current research of meaning and form of the term of ’Fine Art’ (FA). Author made an attempt to extend significance of the mentioned term with complex approach: quotations which expose vivid essence of other types of art; etymologic analysis of words "image" and "art"; analysis of words and with the affix "izo", which resulted to influence of Russian dominating interpretation of ‘Fine Art’ (‘Izobrazitelnoye iskusstvo’) to the Ukrainian term ‘Fine Art’ (‘Obrazotvorche mystetstvo’).
