Abstract

The author focuses on profile education, which is difficult to imagine without teaching elective courses (optional and special). The elective courses of choice have three main functions: 1) deepening the contents of one of the educational subjects of the invariant component, which allows supporting the study of adjacent educational subjects at the profile level; 2) as an additional set of the profile subject, which complements the profile of additional information; 3) satisfies the cognitive interests and needs of pupils in various fields of human activity, which promotes effective vocational guidance.
