Abstract

In the audiorecording and presentation of a popular science lecture delivered January 15, 2019 within the framework of the project of the Laboratory of Social Psychology of Personality, the Council of Young Scientists and the Educational and Practical Center of Psychological Innovations of the Institute for Social and Political Psychology of the National Academy of Educational Sciences of Ukraine "Open Lectures", candidate of psychological sciences, senior researcher of the Laboratory of Social Psychology of Personality, psychologist-consultant K. V. Myronchak tells general and interesting facts about sleep as a physiological state and process, its stages and rhythms. Reveals common theories of dreams: Z. Freud, K.-G. Jung, A. Hobson, Zhang Jie, A. Revonusuo, D. Barrett, M. Blechner, and others. Analyzes the features of such types of dreams as compensatory, creative, factual, repetitive, physiological, warning, conscious, etc. Describes modern research and experiments on dreams: out-of-body sensations (states) during sleep, telepathic dreams, lucid (conscious) dreams, dreams "for the sake of knowing and contact of cultures", etc.
