Abstract
Introduction. The article presents the analysis of geoinformation systems (hereinafter - GIS) and technologies and presents the potential possibilities of their purposeful use in the professional training of geologists in colleges on the basis of competence, information and subject-activity approaches. GIS is considered as an important component of informatization of modern vocational education and formation of geoinformational competence of future geologists. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to ground the geoinformation competence of geologists as an integral part of their professional competence. Methods. Theoretical analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization and systematization. Results. The definition of "geoinformational competence of a geologist" as its preparedness (theoretical and practical), ability (intellectual, activity and subject) and readiness (professional, personal, psychological) for the professional application of GIS and technology in their professional activities as its creative subject. The structure of this competence is substantiated: value-motivational, professional, technological, individual-psychological and subjective components. We have found that in connection with the fact that the geologist is at the same time a geological subject (in the sphere of professional activity), as a professional (by position and specialization) as informational (as a professional subject in the field of geology), as a geoinformation activity (as a specialist in the field of geology), it must be independent, responsible, aware of both the likely negative aspects of its activities, capable of being responsible for the decisions and their results, as well as the likely consequences. Conclusion. The article provides the analyses of geoinformation competence of future geologists as intermediate result of their professional preparation in collages. We have proved that it is formed by future geologists in the process of solving the problems of the subjects of the geological education system of such pedagogical tasks: creating a positive attitude to the students chosen specialty - geologist and the geographic information as a subject of geological activity being; the formation and development of internal motivation to master this profession and its modern technology, including GIS directly; the formation and development of information specific knowledge, skills and abilities in many fields of science, which is the basis of ability to work on modern GIS; the formation and development of special abilities use GIS (hereinafter - HIT) as a specific subject - geological - being; formation of professionally important qualities and professional (professional, information and geographic information) Thinking geologist needed for modern GIS; forming the subject of geographic information activities in the field of geology.
