Abstract

National patriotic education is based not only on the knowledge and understanding of the historical features of the Cossack era, but also to a large extent the personal acquaintance and study of their most pressing issues in practice, that is, during thematic excursions and travels. The article provides methodological recommendations for organizing and conducting thematic excursions and trips along five routes, which include about twenty historical cities and villages of Ukraine. Brief biographical information about the prominent representatives of the Ukrainian Cossacks - Dmitry Vishnevetsky, Ivan Sirko, Bohdan Khmelnytsky and others are given. Designed for history teachers, geography, heads of institutions of secondary education and institutions of additional education, parents of applicants for education.
