Abstract

Harmonization of school education in Ukraine with European benchmarks is considered in the article on the example of the development of competence-oriented education in the EU. The common thing for EU countries and for Ukraine is a commitment to the idea of competence-oriented education in the context of the common challenges and perspectives of a knowledge-based economy and a globalized world. Multidimensionality of this process is proved, which is accompanied by similar challenges (implementation of competences in standards, curricula, textbooks, valid technologies for assessing the mastering of competencies by pupils, etc.).
