Abstract
This article considers one of the most important issues of our time in teaching theory – the problem of environmental education in high school. The author analyzes the outlined problem in terms of the process of educational content fundamentalization. The article proposes the principles of ecological knowledge formation in high school students, to which the author refers the following principles: of fundamentalization; of integrated approach to studying the environment with the use of interdisciplinary connections; of local lore study; of future reflection; and of connecting theory and practice. Besides, the author reasons their compliance during the formation of the system of ecological knowledge in high school students.
