Abstract
It is revealed that the Innovation Union strategy is aimed at achieving the following three goals: to transform Europe into a world leader in the production of scientific knowledge; remove barriers to innovation; to revolutionize the ways of cooperation between the public and private sectors. The priorities of EU policy in the field of science are: "Open innovation", "Open science", "Openness of the world".
