Abstract
The use of historical material in the process of solving competence-oriented physical problems contributes to the development of thinking, moral education and the formation of the scientific outlook of students, involves them in the dialogue of cultures, increases interest in learning. Familiarity with the history of the development of physical science contributes to the education of love for the Motherland, generates pride for the achievement of Ukrainian scholars. The logic of the development of science, "victories" and "defeats", the drama of birth and struggle of ideas that accompany the process of formation of scientific thought, makes it possible to more objectively understand its current state, comprehended perceive and apply the acquired knowledge.
