Abstract

The article explains the main key factors that have an indirect influence on the formation of the semantic component of the modern geography textbook. In particular, they comprise global geopolitical events including those in Ukraine, environmental and energy crises and other global challenges to humanity. A comparative analysis is made of the topical problems of the preparation an content of school teaxtbooks on geography issued in Western Europe and around the world and ways of their solution are considered.
