Abstract
The article covers the use of visual teaching tools in the study of physical geography of Ukraine. One of the main functions of learning tools is to ensure clarity in learning. It is of common knowledge that the process of learning takes the formula "from the living vision to abstract thinking and practice." That is, it is the basis of the visualization principle. In the process of using various visualization means, one kind of them supplements another one and therefore, it is combined with the story of the teacher and the textbook; as a result, it ensures a high level of learning. One of the main functions of learning tools is to ensure visualization in the learning process. Therefore, visibility should be applied in the learning of geography of Ukraine, both in the study of the new material in practice, and the in-depth acquisition and the consolidation of the studied material. In this article, the most wide-spread types of vizualization that allow teachers to create a complete image of the objects and phenomena are curriculum maps, tables, charts, graphs, diagrams, map diagrams, distributed additional material, geographical observation which directly implements the principle of vizualization. The main requirements of working with visual learning tools are the following: 1) work with visual teaching tools, which should be combined with different applicable textbooks and maps; 2) ensure not only productive but also creative nature of the cognitive pupils' activity learning of pupils; 3) visual aids must be applied at various stages of training; both in the study of the new material, and in its consolidation and generalization; 4) stimulate pupils' cognitive interest. In the 8th grade, the pupils are able to work with visualization independently without any help of a teacher; however, the material that students need to learn must become more and more complicated. We consider an example of the vizualization means application at the lesson on the "Types of air masses and atmospheric circulation in the territory of Ukraine."
