Abstract
The author characterizes main tendencies of the development of textbook creation abroad covering internationalization both in the aspect of production and in terms of content; the movement from the use of one textbook to the use of complexes / sets of training materials; increase in the number of electronic textbooks; the use of open textbooks (which is granted a license of open copyrights).
