Abstract

In August, the Ministry of Education and Science approved methodological recommendations on evaluation of educational achievements of first grade students in New Ukrainian school. The document proposes a new model of evaluation that allows students to check knowledge in terms of competency training. Prior to that, there were no such practices in Ukraine. Teachers knew how evaluate the learning outcomes (eg, the number of errors in dictation); however, did not know how to evaluate the process of learning and competence. What and how will change in checking knowledge of students in accordance with the new document?
