Abstract
The article substantiates the necessity of developing a system of textbooks on subjects in the educational fields “Natural Science”, “Mathematics”, “Languages and Literature” (literary component) as a component of the educational environment — the general didactic factor, from which the effectiveness of the didactic process depends to a large extent. The basis of the system of textbooks — the notion “scientific picture of the world”, “life-affirming image of the world of the student” — is a personally significant system of knowledge about reality, which is formed in the minds of high school pupils in the process of integrating the content of natural-mathematical, literary subjects in the process of their mastering. Based on the experience of creating a system of textbooks for the model of sustainable development education “Environment”, the features of the system of textbooks of subjects of natural sciences and mathematics, literary studies cycle are formulated. In particular, it is proved that the integrity of the content of knowledge in the textbook system is realized through: the natureconsistency of the goals of the educational process and the integration of knowledge about reality on the basis of the most common laws of nature, culture, environment and methods of cognition of reality. In accordance with this provision in the system of textbooks the basis for the formation of the integrity of knowledge selected general laws of nature, the laws of culture, the laws of the environment. The article substantiates the provision prohibiting the inclusion of chapters in the textbook system, topics that contain only factual knowledge, without the core of theoretical generalizations based on general patterns; on the basis of J. Miller’s psychological law, the number of paragraphs in the paragraph, the number of paragraphs in the chapter, the chapters in the section, the sections in the textbook are limited. The reasonableness of the rhythm of mental activity of the student in the process of working with a textbook system is substantiated. The necessity of forming a textbook system for a holistic world-wide understanding of young generations, planning of lessons in the environment, projects with reference to the experience of educators of sustainable development education “Environment” and recommendations of the experts of the Roma Club concerning the new education of the XXI century is emphasized.
