Abstract
The article substantiates the urgency of the problem of development of creative abilities of senior pupils in the conditions of profile education. It is revealed that an important pedagogical problem is the teachers’ readiness to conduct a pedagogical activity in general and to the development of students’ creative abilities in particular. Based on the position of a number of scholars, the article analyzes the essence of the concepts of “readiness” for activity and “readiness for professional pedagogical activity”, which is understood as the integrative personal quality of a teacher, his/her personal status of motivational-value relation to professional activity, possession of effective ways and means of achieving pedagogical goals, creativity and reflection. The basic components of motivation (cognitive, operational, volitional and evaluational) are identified in the structure of readiness for professional pedagogical activity.Based on the analysis of the empirical material, the level of readiness of teachers to develop the creative abilities of senior pupils for each of the indicated components has been determined. It has been established that motive and evaluation components are best formed among the teachers, since all teachers are aware of the need to develop the students’ creative abilities and seek to improve their professional level. It is revealed that other components of readiness are not formed enough by the teachers: they have incomplete knowledge about pedagogical technologies (cognitive component of readiness); rarely involve children in creative activity, pay attention to the development of only certain components of creative abilities (operating component); have problems solving the difficulties associated with the organization of students’ creative activity (volitional component). There have been made the conclusions regarding the problems that need to be resolved both at the theoretical and practical levels, namely: the development of teachers’ cognitive, operational and volitional components of readiness to develop the creative abilities of senior pupils in the conditions of specialized education.
