Abstract

The article is devoted to the implementation of competence-based and communicative approaches in teaching languages at secondary schools. The main areas of practical implementation of competency-communicative language teaching in comprehensive secondary education, goal-setting, working with a textbook as the primary means of learning and enhancing a student in the learning process, dialogue communication of a teacher with students, forming readership skills organized on competency basis of evaluation and monitoring of students' educational outcomes were featured.
