Abstract
Institutions of general secondary education provide differentiation of education, offering the study profiles through some combinations of the basic, profile subjects and courses by choice. This is a flexible learning system that allows a senior pupil to choose an individual educational program. But the task of ensuring deep pre-professional readiness and forming a steady orientation to continuing education of the senior pupils has not yet been resolved. Learning out of bounds of the traditional subjects or topics in the system of elective courses, using the opportunities of the variable component of the curriculum, should substantially improve the system of profile education.
