Abstract
The requirements of modern society actualize the problem of the formation of polytechnic knowledge, skills and abilities in the process of teaching physics. In recent researches of scientists the problem of the resumption of polytechnic education is actualized, the conditions of realization of professional self-determination in the context of the modern competency-based education paradigm are described. During the course of the dissertation research, we have developed and tested a methodology of forming the polytechnic component of subject competence in physics of secondary school pupils. The stage of designing the methodology of forming the polytechnic component of subject competence in physics of secondary school pupils included the research of scientific and theoretical basis; substantiation of principles of construction; setting goals and objectives; description of the components of the methodology, their essence and functions; prediction of effectiveness. Approbation stage embraced the description of the practical use of the proposed methods of teaching and the identified conditionality of the achieved result. One of the important elements of the proposed methodology of the formation of the polytechnic component of subject competence in physics is its teaching and methodological support. The created textbooks and manuals implement the updated content defined by the physics curriculum for secondary school. The proposed system of forms of organization of polytechnic education is aimed at the professional self-determination of schoolchildren, allows to identify design, communication, research and other abilities, to demonstrate cognitive skills, contributes to the formation of the subject and key competencies of pupils.
