Abstract

The guide that you have may be interesting for anyone involved with the history teaching process at the mainstream school: school teachers, university teachers and advanced education systems, parenting students. It will help you both to get information on this issue and to organize practical activities with the following recommendations. In the 2013/2014 academic year, the history teaching program started, which was built in accordance with the new State Education Standard 2011. This program is very different from the previous analogue both in terms of content and methodology of conducting lessons. In particular, it contains such a new element as practical lessons. This necessitates the development of certain recommendations for teachers who teach history at the main school for the program. Despite all the changes and transformations, practical lessons are preserved in the history program, which, in our opinion, is of fundamental importance in the context of the declared competence approach to learning. It is the enlightenment of new ideas, approaches and methods of conducting practical lessons on history and is devoted to this manual. In the first section of the book "General theoretical and methodological foundations of the organization of students' activity in practical classes on history in the primary school" briefly highlighted the main categories related to the competence approach and its implementation in the history lessons. Considerable attention is paid to practical classes, in particular, the questions of the structure of this type of lesson, the design, selection of texts and other sources of knowledge of students, the formulation of cognitive tasks for students. The second part of the manual is devoted to the practical aspects of the methodology of organizing students' activity in practical classes. Thus, in the second section "Methodology of conducting practical classes on the history of Ukraine in grades 5-7: general approaches and examples" in the context of the content of each of the initial courses of history and age characteristics of students, the method of conducting and the peculiarities of the activity of the teacher and students in each class is thoroughly characterized. Examples of lessons given in the manual contain not only recommendations for the teacher, but also all the materials necessary for carrying out one or another lesson: texts, documents, illustrations. The third "Methodology of carrying out practical classes on the history of Ukraine in the 8th grade" and the fourth "Methodology of conducting practical lessons on the history of Ukraine in the 9th grade" are devoted to the organization of practical classes with students who already have a certain level of historical competence, and therefore need a creative approach and serious teacher training for such classes. Therefore, the authors considered it necessary to provide detailed descriptions of all lessons - practical lessons at the course "History of Ukraine". Our task was to demonstrate to teachers that it is quite possible that the proposed approaches to learning the effectiveness of the process and achievement of the students with high results. However, the condition is a deliberate use by the teacher of the methods and techniques described and his constant attention to the environment in which learning takes place. The presented description of the lessons in all sections corresponds to the one presented in the first section of the theory and structure of the practical lesson. Fundamentally important is the heading "General Comment", in which we tried to explain to the teacher certain or other features of teaching in accordance with the updated content and age of students. If you first start your acquaintance with practical lessons on the history of the current program, be sure to read the theoretical part of the book. In this case, your taking lessons and using the described techniques and methods of training will necessarily be effective.
