Abstract
It is established that V.A. Sukhomlinsky attached great importance to the problems of the upbringing and education of children in the educational space, including correctional pedagogy; it is revealed that the scientist, using the centuries-old experience of his native people, his own understanding of the development of the child, the achievements of his colleagues, developed questions about the identity of students with insufficiently developed abilities.
