Abstract
Life history is a socioculturally conditioned narrative, which is a composite self-concept. The model of life history is a model of identity, since the personal history of a person gives meaning to his experience and performs an exceptionally important role in defining the “I”. The life story combines various episodes of life into a certain agreed pattern. Narrative - a common and familiar form of the embodiment of human history. Narrative is not only the most important tool for understanding and interpreting personal experience, surrounding reality, but also the leading means of personality self-designing. It is shown that the leading line of personal development is the leitmotif as the main life “theme”, which is the basis for creating life history by linking the main events of life in an ordered sequence. The leitmotif is given by culture, upbringing, education, reading, all those external influences that are transformed into the personal system of meanings, building the thread of a person’s life history. The main functions of the keynote are highlighted, contributing to streamlining the personal experience.
