Abstract

Thesis on gaining the scientific degree of a candidate of pedagogical sciences in speciality 13.00.04 – theory and methods of professional training. – The Institute of Pedagogical Education and Adult Education at the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv, 2011. The thesis is devoted to the historical and pedagogical analysis of formation and development of professional vocal education in Ukraine at the end of the XIX – the beginning of the XX century. On the basis of analysis of archive documents and scientific literature the social-political and social-cultural reasons and pre-conditions of formation and development of vocal education in Ukraine of the period studied are defined. The content, forms and methods of vocal education in educational establishments of different levels and types are exposed; the progressive historical pedagogical experience is defined and generalized; the perspectives of its usage at the modern level of formation of national education are studied. Unknown before archive documents are introduced into scientific circulation as well as the government documents representing the historical conditions and main stages of formation of professional vocal education; the pedagogical ideas of prominent art and culture workers of the period studied are characterized. The methodical recommendations for teachers and students of higher musical and musical-pedagogical educational establishments for using the progressive historical experience of national education of Ukraine at the end of the XIX – the beginning of the XX century at the modern stage of formation of national education are worked out. The main principals of the thesis can be used in the practical musical and pedagogical activity of the modern secondary and higher schools while teaching art disciplines as well as while the process of working out of textbooks and manuals on the history of musical education in Ukraine.
