Abstract
This paper states that: 1) in personal dimension, labor is a means of self-expression and self-affirmation, the realization of intellectual and creative potential, formation of psychological experience, development of a sense of moral dignity; 2) competencies are characteristics acquired as a result of activity, which can be summarized as follows – 1) key ones, 2) by the type of activity, 3) in the sphere of public life, 4) in the spheres of social knowledge, 5) in the spheres of social production, 6) by the components of psychological sphere, 7) in the sphere of abilities, 8) by the level of social maturity and status; 3) socio-professional orientation should form a readiness to achieve personal and social meaningful goals in the conditions of a globalized space owing to increase in the level of competitiveness of a person.
