Abstract
The manual is devoted to the solution of the actual problem -forming the reader's skills of schoolchildren with Russian language teaching. The essential characteristics of reading skills are considered, the peculiarities of the elementary education are singled out to be taught in Ukrainian at schools with Russian language teaching, the basic requirements concerning the components of readership skills are given: correctness, way of reading, pace, consciousness and expressiveness. Examples of post-ebook (class 2) lessons, literary reading lessons and tentative calendar planning (Grade 3) will be useful for practicing teachers in the context of developing reading skills when working with texts of different kinds. The manual is addressed to primary school teachers, students of the postgraduate pedagogical education system and students of pedagogical institutions.
