Abstract

Article deals with considering peculiarities of such types of trust as reason-based and implicit, strategic and moralistic, particularized and generalized. Main distortions intrinsic to news media in lighting migrants’ problems in Europe are characterized. Peculiarities of migrants related news production are described. Results of interviews with journalists who produce migrants related news in Europe are presented. It was concluded that formation of reason-based trust which is connected to rational thinking among news media consumers can become conceptual basis for media literacy trainings conduction. Skills of reason-based trust actualization are a necessary condition of media literacy and media competence.
