Abstract
Modeling as a theoretical method of cognition and, consequently, learning, plays a special role in the educational process, since it is of fundamental importance not only for subjects of the natural direction, but also has a general scientific character. The use of modeling in teaching has two aspects, acting as a method of cognition, which pupils must master, and the learning process and means, without which full-fledged teaching and learning is impossible. The processes of cognition and learning, because of the complexity of natural processes and phenomena, provide for extensive use of models. The model should be best adapted to the perception of students and take into account their age characteristics. Successful use of the properties of the model and reliance on them in the development of teaching methods will contribute to more successful learning by the students of the educational material, the formation of their competencies, skills and skills. In the article the problem of using the modeling method in the process of training of senior pupils of natural-mathematical subjects is investigated, interpretations of the concepts "model" and "modeling" are analyzed, which are often used in scientific branches. As a result of the analysis of psychological and pedagogical studies, it is established that modeling is considered 1) as a method of theoretical cognition and the method of instruction; 2) as a means of organizing the educational and cognitive activity of students; 3) as a means of implementing intersubject communications.
