Abstract
The article deals with adult education as a field of science and one of the most common areas of lifelong learning, which has been successfully developed in many countries, having risen from chaos and uncertainty to an integral part of curricula of educational institutions. Adult education in Ukraine is trying to adapt to the vital problems of adults providing appropriate quality of their social and professional growth and professyonalizmu. However, the Ukrainian scientific literature has not covered issues of professional competence as a significant factor of adult education, indicating the urgency of the problem and causes our interest in solving it. The author proposed a set of basic (socio-cultural, legal, psychological, communication, information and communications) and job-functional competencies (conceptual, modeling, analytical and diagnostic, organizational, marketing, financial and economic) adult - head of the college / technical school, which has have a successful modern manager.
