Abstract
The author presents the program of the course «Fundamentals of Inclusive Education» for higher school institutions which train specialists in the qualification of Bachelor (as well as degrees of Specialist and Master of Education). The curriculum is approved by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (letter № 1/11-1912 MONMS of Ukraine from 13.02.2012). The course «Fundamentals of Inclusive Education» was recommended by Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine to implement the learning process in high school institutions from the 2012/2013 school year in case to provide training in the educational fields (specialties) of «Early childhood education», «Primary education» and «Social pedagogy» (order № 1/9 – 456 MONMS of Ukraine from 18.06.2012 year). This academic discipline is based on Ukrainian and international research in the field of inclusive education, e.g. research carried out by Canadian academics, and is aimed at developing professional skills in pedagogy and psychology students at universities and improving the skills of practicing teachers who take their regular professional development courses in related areas at In-Service Teacher Training Institutes. The course consists of a set of academic credits that are similar to ЕСТ S; two content modules consisting of 12 learning topics; self-study assignments and individual projects for students; and a rating scale to evaluate the learning outcomes.
