Abstract
In the article the author covers the problem of science and educational subject. The correlation of science and educational subject, the features of construction of educational subjects at different levels of the school is revealed, the methodological and psychological and pedagogical criteria of the selection of science material (a set of scientific knowledge for the construction of educational subjects) are determined. It is determined that the theory of science and the theory of the subject matter have different subject areas (refer to different aspects of reality), operate on different systems of abstractions, the direct connection between which is impossible. It is emphasized that the purpose of education consists of the following components: stock of scientific knowledge, intellectual development, possession of a special complex of practical skills, scientific outlook.
